About MPL (Mobile Premier League)
MPL (known as Mobile Premier League) claims to be India’s biggest gaming app. Playable online or via an instant play interface, MPL claims to have over 90 million users. Of those, 75 million come from India and Indonesia. The rest reportedly come from elsewhere in Asia, North America, and Europe.
Founded in 2018, Mobile Premier League is available to play in English and Hindi. It declared itself legal and secure. The simplest way is to download the mobile gambling app. This is done by entering your phone number to receive an SMS download link. Android users must use this link to play by downloading the MPL Pro.apk file. Apple users can download the game via the Apple App Store. Around 20,000 users have done so. This is strange. Twenty thousand out of an estimated 90 million users is quite low. Either most players prefer the instant play experience, or there are major discrepancies.
That aside, it is our job at Betting in India is to explain how MPL works for you. Let’s look closer at what this Indian gambling app can offer you today.
How Does MPL Work?
Firstly, you need to know what MPL is. The simplest explanation is that it is a real money betting app aimed at Indian players. However, it accepts those from elsewhere. With MPL, you can play fantasy sports, card, arcade, and puzzle games, amongst other options. While there is a free-to-play mode, when you wager real cash, you can win real money.
Mobile Premier League allows you to participate in tournaments, cash contests and more. You can pick your favourite games and play for free or tackle other players for real cash prizes. You can also earn high scores by defeating games. The higher your score and the more opponents you defeat, the higher up a leaderboard you will climb. Naturally, those on top of the totem will win the best prizes. Again, there is a free-to-play version of most games. Like to play slots? Then check Rajabets, JungliWin or Ekbet Casino.
Entering tournaments requires tickets. You can earn these by playing games, and you can “buy” tickets. Tickets are available for fantasy games, rummy, and poker. Tickets bought for one type of game cannot be used on others. There are also VIP tickets which can be used on a broader array of options. All tickets have expiration dates, meaning that you can only play until they expire. After that, you’ll need additional tickets to continue betting and playing.
Another option is to go down the VIP route. A VIP subscription costs ₹49 for the first thirty days and ₹99 for any subsequent month. A VIP subscription lasts for thirty days. Perks include 2% extra winnings, free tickets to games, and access to VIP subscriber events. Sadly, you cannot earn bonus coins when playing through a VIP subscription. We’ll explain bonus coins shortly.
MPL’s Games
There are around sixty games or so on the MPL app. These include Ludo, MPL Texas (a hold ’em card game), Rummy and Call Break. Others include 8 Ball Pool, Carrom, Fruit Chop, Fantasy Cricket, and Chess. MPL divides its game into genres, so you can easily navigate its collection and see what’s available.
Let’s briefly walk you through the available options at MPL. These include:
- Arcade: Fruit Chop, Fruit Dart and Fruit Slice are all available to play as arcade games on the MPL app.
- Brain Games: Test your intellectual ability by playing Speed Chess or Sudoku with the best.
- Card Games: Enjoy Rummy, MPL Texas and Call Break at MPL.
- Casual Games: This sizeable collection includes Carrom, Pool, Ludo, Monster Truck, Bike Racing, Runner No. 1, and Ludo Win.
- Fantasy Games: Expect to see daily fantasy sports games at MPL. These include but aren’t limited to fantasy cricket, football, basketball, and baseball. For real money cricket, check the best cricket betting sites.
- Puzzle Games: Bubble Shooter, Build Up, and Block Puzzle are popular games supported in this genre.
- Sports Games: WCC2, Baseball Star, and Archery are all options you can go with at MPL.

Free and Real Money Bets
As touched on earlier, all MPL games can be played for free or with real money bets. You’ll need to buy (or earn) tickets to participate in real money games. Global leaderboard challenges pay far better prizes than basic cash games. In fact, the basic cash games offer relatively small prizes. Also check 1xBet for real money games for Indians.
For instance, if you were to wager the equivalent of $0.75 on Bingo, you could win a maximum of $1.20. At least, this is the case when playing at the Beginner’s level. The harder you make the games, the more you can win, in theory. Playing the same game at Amateur, Semi-Pro or Pro levels could cost $1.50, $3.00, and $6.00, respectively. Available prizes would be capped at $2.50, $5.00, and $10.00. As you can see, there isn’t a huge windfall even if you’re successful. Some high-roller games are worse. For instance, high-roller stakes of $250 may only result in a $400 win. That’s less than double your stake.
MPL The Bonuses
MPL is home to some welcome bonuses and promotions, although not an immense number. You’ll need promo codes for all the bonuses found at MPL. These can be found on the site and entered on the deposit page. Players in selected countries may not have access to the same promos and bonuses that Indians do. Regional restrictions may apply. Let’s look at MPL’s bonuses in more detail here.
Cashback
When you play on Mobile Premier League, you can earn cashback. Well, we say “earn”, and we say “cashback”. In reality, these are deposit bonuses. You can “receive” a “bonus” when you deposit. Any deposit bonus you claim will be automatically credited to your Bonus Coins balance. Each requires a bonus code to trigger it. Because it is a “bonus”, it cannot be withdrawn.
Refer-a-Friend Bonus
MPL claims to support a refer-a-friend bonus, but we couldn’t find any information on its specifics. It is likely that this bonus follows those found at similar and rival sites. In short, you will likely receive a cash bonus based on the amount your friend deposits. Again, this bonus would be paid out in Bonus Coins, so it wouldn’t be withdrawable.
Banking at MPL
The payment methods you can use depend on where you reside. Players based in India can make use of UPI, PayTM and NetBanking. Over fifty Indian banks are associated with this payment option. If you’re based outside of India, you can also use PayPal, VISA, MasterCard and Skrill.
Any money you deposit into your account can only be used to buy tickets or pay entry fees. In short, it cannot be withdrawn. It is strange to see a betting site that doesn’t allow you to withdraw your deposit. Therefore, only money won from games can be withdrawn. Deposit and bonus funds remain in your account indefinitely. This is going to be a point of contention with players.
As for withdrawals, Indian players can use UPI, Amazon Pay, bank transfers and PayTM to process cashouts. However, you will need to go through the KYC process before any withdrawals are processed. It can take upwards of three days for the KYC step to be confirmed. You may also face pending periods of up to three days at times. The average withdrawal time at MPL is three to four days.
MPL players are faced with minimum withdrawal limits of 21 lakhs. The equivalent in USD is $2.00. Withdrawals are capped at roughly $500 per day and its equivalent in rupees. Withdrawals (of any amount) are subject to a $2 surcharge. If you want to withdraw less than $10, an additional $1.50 is slapped on top.
Security and Regulation
MPL describes itself as legal predominantly because it limits where cash games can be played. For instance, in some US and Indian states, only free-to-play games are available. It is run by Galactus Funware, and we couldn’t find a license attached to it. Moreover, we didn’t see any evidence of responsible gambling tools being incorporated into the app.
We have seen both praise and complaints thrown in this app’s direction. Some players seem frustrated that payouts are slow. Some have also complained about being banned. On the flip side, some players praise the game selection and tournament-based gameplay. As with any betting site, it is up to you to make an informed judgement.
Customer Service
Mobile Premier League does at least offer 24/7 support. This is predominantly delivered via an e-mail option (community@mplgaming.com). There is an FAQ guide on the site, and we’re delighted to say that it is extensive. While there is no live chat service, you will likely find all you need in the FAQ. It covers seemingly every aspect of gameplay at Mobile Premier League.
Conclusion
MPL is a betting site that offers both free-to-play and real-money games. We would like to see a bit more clarity when it comes to payouts, licensing and responsible gambling tools. However, any skilled and experienced Indian player should be able to filter the facts and the fiction. We’d recommend joining Mobile Premier League and trying their free-to-play games to begin with. If you like what you see, then you can try MPL’s real money games.
